How to send fan mail????

Hi i have written fan mail for diferent celebs and i was just wondering do you send an SAE in a normal evelope with their address on it and then you put the stamps on both of them? ive done it before and got one back fom colin morgan but ive forgotten what o do lol thanks for answering if anyone does answer. =D
